Sammlung Goetz
Infos
The Sammlung Goetz is an internationally significant and renown collection of contemporary art with its own exhibition building in Munich-Oberföhring. It was founded in 1993 by the collector Ingvild Goetz and today includes more than 5000 works from nearly all artistic genres. Focal points include Arte Povera, American painting of the 1980s, Young British Artists, media art, photography and works on paper. In addition, it includes an outstanding collection of works by important individual artists such as Rosemarie Trockel, Thomas Schütte, Mike Kelley and Peter Fischli & David Weiss.
In 2014, Ingvild Goetz donated part of her collection and the exhibition building to the State of Bavaria, which has since continued to operate it as a state-owned institution.
