Louis Jucker — a pharmacy of songs
Liederapotheke / Officine à chansons
Louis Jucker sets up a song dispensary on the first floor of a former pharmacy in Lausanne. For a month, the lo-fi folk musician will be recording tailor-made songs in the style of an apothecary. Melodies that seek to heal what hurts. The public is invited to take part in a "consultation", i.e. to place an order for a song-remedie, adapted to their own sonic needs. The artist will do his best to prepare the requested melodies, which he will then engrave onto small discs. Over time, the drawers of the pharmacy will be filled with recordings that can be consulted on site.
The exhibition spaces on the second floor will be taken over by the artist and his friends to create a "sonarium", a set of small, more or less interactive sound and visual installations based on recycled equipment.
